As-Built Tools, Technology and 360° Virtual Tours

Pairing the Right As-Built Tools and Technology to Your Project

Our team is dedicated to pairing the right As-Built tools and technology to every project ensuring reliable As-Built plans your team can trust. From the tools our surveyors use to capture precise measurements to the drafting software and skillset of our team, we are committed to continual improvement. Here are a few of the technologies we use to create your As-Built plans and 360° Virtual Tours.

As-Built Technology: GeoSlam Zeb Revo Laser Scanners

GeoSlam Zeb Revo and
Zeb Horizon Laser Scanners

3D laser scanning technology has never been more efficient. The GeoSLAM Zeb scanners provide our surveyors handheld mobile mapping technology. Their mobility is convenient on-site while gathering accurate measurement data. This 3D laser scanner creates a robust point cloud with millions of data points providing our drafters the precise information to draft your As-Built surveys in 2D or 3D.

As-Built Technology: Leica BLK360 Laser Scanning

Leica BLK360 Laser Scanning

The Leica BLK360 is a portable laser scanning solution that generates a full 3D colorized point cloud of any space along with 360° imagery. Its ability to merge a laser accurate point cloud with panoramic photography is a key benefit. Its lightweight mobility allows our surveyors to easily work in any space. While we try to survey commercial spaces during off-peak hours, this scanner is especially valuable when surveying buildings that may be in use like medical offices, restaurants, or convenience stores. The highly-accurate point cloud data allows our drafters to create precise 2D and 3D As-Built plans of any type. It also provides High-Dynamic Range (HDR) and thermal imaging.

As-Built Tools: Leica Disto Laser Measuring Devices

Leica Disto Laser Measuring Devices

We use Leica’s wide range of Disto measuring devices. Leica is known for their high level of precision and accuracy in telescopes, camera lenses and survey grade measuring equipment. PPM has been using Leica Distos for nearly 20 years, as they were one of the first quality laser distance meters available and they continue to lead the pack in terms of accuracy, reliability and advanced measurement features.

Scan/Measure to AutoCAD

Scan/Measure to CAD Drawings

With an array of measuring tools and laser scanning technology at our fingertips, we pair the most efficient solution to your project. We focus on the best option to gather accurate measurements and deliver precise As-Built plans in a timely manner. Since 2002, PPM has been working in AutoCAD which is the most widely accepted format for construction documentation today. Our standards are clean and efficient focusing on only the information you need. When using laser scanning, PPM knows exactly how to use the point cloud data to ensure the final deliverable is as accurate as the property. We’ve spent years perfecting a complicated point cloud drafting process to make it efficient and accurate to ensure a worry-free start to your remodel.

Scan to Revit (BIM) modeling

Our Revit (BIM) modelers use point clouds generated by our laser scanners to create flexible and dynamic As-Built models. These are great for a number of reasons. These precise, complete models allow our team to create 3D models that can be used to create any 2D construction documentation needed for any type of project. Revit (BIM) models also provide a beautiful rendering that our clients often use for marketing purposes.
